Desde el alma – Nochero soy
Basic concept:
• Desde el Alma and Nochero Soy are two connected weekend events with separate registrations
and additional programs between them.
• It is possible to register for either one of the weekends, or you can take the wild ride and stay for both.
• Additionally, you may register solely for the Wednesday concert milonga;
however, participants of Desde el Alma or Nochero Soy will always be prioritized.
• For various reasons (such as capacity, gender balance, crowd shaping, and the proportion of countries, etc.),
participation may be limited to one event only, and redirection between weekends may be suggested.
The organizer reserves the right to make such decisions based on the event’s needs.
• To provide enough planning time for dancers, registrations are open one year in advance.

Registrations purpose:
• Given the scale and complexity of the event,
it is not possible to accept every dancer who wishes to be part of it.
With the high number of registrations, such situations inevitably arise,
and they are always personal for someone.
However, not being accepted does not reflect any personal stance toward the dancer.
The decisions are made solely from the perspective of the organizer’s responsibility to the event.
The aim of the registration process is to create a balanced and harmonious environment
(for example, in terms of gender balance, the proportion of countries, inclusion of young dancers, etc.)
and to support principles that resonate with tango itself, such as friendliness and social responsibility.
While securing a high level of dancing is one of the key objectives of the event,
creating a friendly and safe environment takes priority.
The understanding of this tango event is that it is a place
where dancers come to share themselves with others.
Therefore, the most valued quality in any dancer is social responsibility
and emotional responsabilty toward others.

Registration dynamics:
• Selecting dancers is a thoughtful process that considers multiple factors.
Applying earlier in the registration period does not provide any advantage
over dancers who register later. The selection process does not follow a
‘first come, first served’ principle.”
Please keep in mind that the registration process may take some time,
so we kindly ask for your patience.
• The registration process operates within a defined timeframe.
On one side, there is a continuous flow of new applications and anticipated future submissions.
On the other side, each application requires limited two weeks for processing.
As a result, decisions are made based on the immediate needs of the event at that specific moment,
considering factors such as gender balance and the representation of different countries.
Throughout the registration period, the overall remaining capacity of the event does not,
on its own, justify reconsidering a decision
—unless the evolving registration dynamics and event requirements make it necessary.

Important information:
• In the last edition, more than 300 dancers were over the event’s capacity
and had to be placed on a waiting list
(primarily single followers). This year, the waiting list may be even longer.
• the way free follower places are distributed is based on current needs of the event,
not by chronological order of the registrations
• This event is also designed to support young dancers, and there is a quota for each country.
Therefore, not being accepted does not necessarily reflect a lack of dance skill.
While the aim is to achieve a high level of dancing and ensure very friendly atmosphere,
selection takes multiple factors into account.
• Based on the experience of last edition, it is strongly recommended to followers to register in couple.
• This event is queer-friendly and encourages role-switching.
If you dance both roles or prefer to attend as a male follower or female leader,
please mention this in the registration notes.
